What is an RHN?
A Registered Holistic Nutritionist, is professional trained in Natural Nutrition and complimentary therapies, whose principal function is to educate individuals and groups about the benefits and health impacts of optimal nutrition.

An RHN uses whole food as means of preventing disease and ensures that the body is capable of healing itself by providing it with necessary nutrients.   An RHN understands the connection with Mind, Body and Spirit and can help bring balance and understanding to these aspects while helping create an individual plan.

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”. -Hippocrates (the father of Western Medicine).
Food is a necessity yet something that has become so confused over the past century.  With dis-ease on the up rise, how can we not turn toward our diets?  Deciphering between what REAL food is can be very tricky.  Each body’s own bio-chemistry needs to be considered.   Having a Holistic Nutritionist guide you through conversation and education can be a simplifying and empowering experience.  They are trained to help translate the many messages the body is trying to send us.
If you’re suffering from any ailments such as: digestive difficulties, allergies, behavioural disorders, stress, fatigue, chronic illness, headaches, reproductive issues, neurological problems, cancer, auto-immune disorders, structural problems, trauma or have a desire to support your body for pregnancy, training, or just plain want some nutritional advice for detoxification, feeding finicky kids, supporting your immune system and so on.  An RHN can assess your individual needs by making connections to create a healthy eating or supplemental plan that is specialized for you to help reduce symptoms.

From Pacific Rim College:

Nutrition can be the cornerstone of any healthy lifestyle. Through the foods that we eat, and ultimately don't eat, we can influence our health in tremendous ways. Holistic Nutrition is not calorie-counting, measuring grams of fats and carbohydrates, or applying concepts of the Food Pyramid. It involves deeply exploring the health of an individual and using wholesome foods to maintain or improve health.
